Sportmeet is the expression of that spiritual and social renewal that is the cornerstone of the experience of the Focolare Movement. The Movement, born in Trent, in northern Italy , during the Second World War, was founded by Chiara Lubich. It is currently active in 182 Countries in all continents. With a range of characteristics similar to that of the population of a small Country, the Movement numbers more than five million people of different races, cultures, social extraction, professions, languages, Christian traditions, other religions and non-religious convictions united in the task of serving as seeds for a world of greater solidarity – a united world.
Reciprocity of love with the purpose of building unity is unfolding itself as a ‘paradigm of unity’, a ‘code’ to transform the world of economics and of work, of international relations, politics, justice, healthcare, culture, and communications.
